Web Word Count counts words on Web pages. You can use it either for a folder with HTML files or download Web site with MetaProducts Offline Explorer to count all of its words.
Offline Explorer Projects
When you start the application it detects whether Offline Explorer is installed. If yes, a list of downloaded Projects is shown. Non-downloaded Projects are not listed in the screen.
Web Word Count detects any of the 3 editions - Standard, Professional and Enterprise. If some project was downloaded by two different editions, only the latest download will be processed.
Select a Project and click the Count Words button. After counting all words, the list of files on the right side will show FileNames and their respective word counts. Total amount of words in all files is shown on the status bar below the list.
Map entries on the status bar shows total number of files that belong to the project that was counted. This includes also images, styles, scripts and other files. Usually, the number of Web pages will be less than the number of entries in the map.
Folder on a disk
If you have a folder with your site HTML pages or you downloaded a site with another offline browser, switch to this tab to count words. Select a folder you are interested in and click the Count Words button. All subfolders of the selected folder will be also counted.
Web Word Count doesn't display the Progress bar with percentage of processed files, but the status bar will show the subfolder being processed now.
Export results to a file
You may save the list of files with words count to a comma-separated text file or to Microsoft Excel worksheet. Click the Export button, select the preferred fileformat and choose filename to save to.
